The Most Expensive Home, Proton Inspira and ToyWatch

Here are a few things that have caught my attention lately.

1) The World’s Most Expensive Home

It was in the news lately that Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India and the 5th Richest Man in the world has just built the World’s Most Expensive Home. Let me show you how it looks.

This is it. When I showed Kitteh this picture she kept looking for a house but found nothing. It’s that tall building that looks like it’s still under construction. That’s right.

Let me explain his home in numbers.

27 floors

6 floors of car park and another floor just for his very own car service center to service his own cars

600 staff to be hired to run this household

6 members of his family that are going to be living here

$1,800,000,000 is what it cost to build and is now worth.

Can someone say… WOAH!!!!

That’s crazy. The man is owner of Reliance Industries, the largest private corporation in India and he is worth an estimated USD28,000,000,000. So I guess when you have that much money… what’s a $1,800,000,000 for a house. Only 6.5% of his networth. He is forecasted by Forbes magazine to be the richest man in the world by 2014.

You can watch this news report on his house for a better look.

2) Now Everyone Can Evo

Proton not long ago announced their replacement for the Proton Waja. It looks like this.

I thought it looked really nice actually though I thought it looked a bit familiar. After doing some research online did I only find out why it was so familiar. It’s actually a Mitsubishi Lancer with some slight modifications and a Proton badge. Man… Evo owners who spent some RM300K on their Evos were really pissed off and venting their frustration on all the sites I went to. Everything from blogs, forums, Twitter and even YouTube.

I mean I guess I can see why. I can remember how when I was in college, the trend were all these Japanese rally cars ( you know the Rx-7s, the Skylines etc etc) and the Mitsubishi Evo was one of the coolest. If you drove one to college, you were cool and you would catch a lot of attention just like a few of my lucky friends did.Girls back then totally digged guys who drove those cars too. I wonder if it’s still the same in colleges today.

Anyway, now that the new Proton looks just like the Mitsubishi Lancer (Evo), everyone can have an Evo now! In fact Ican imagine a lot of people buying Proton Inspiras and changing the Proton logo to a Mitsubishi one. Still I think it’s a nice car though and if I were to buy a Proton today, I would buy the Proton Inspira. Proton was getting quite a bit of flak online too for not coming up with a new design of its own but hey, the Myvi’s a great popular car and that’s from a Japanese car too.

That being said, I thought the Gen 2 was a really nice design. That’s Proton’s work right?

Whatever it is, with the new Proton Inspirasi… Now everyone can Evo!

3) My ToyWatch Broke

That’s right… just after a few months the wrist snapped and something inside broke too. The W for the word “Watch” on the face came out. I don’t know what happened. Didn’t drop it or anything. I just jerked my arm a little once trying to pull back my sleeve and it came out.

So I’m not sure if a ToyWatch is a good investment now if you’re looking for something that lasts.

So that’s all folks. Till the next entry 🙂
