I live in Uganda and we equally face the same humane resources loss to other countries. It is a pity to be poor and in critical shortage of such individuals but we continue to contribute to the development of of the already developed nations where our brothers and sisters prefer to live and work. However i would wish you send me an assortment of the negative impact of brain drain on your country. It is also important to leave it on the website such that every Malaysian who visit this website is able to first Anallise the great loss incurred by his or her nation due to their absence from the country. Thank you.

The BEST decision I have ever made was to LEAVE Malaysia.

It is an insult to hear about Mr. X and Mr. Y unless they have worked so-so hard to get a job but to have to let their junior counterpart become his boss because the other guy bumiputera. Then have to do Mr. Bumi's work!

Or have all the skills to get the job done but not be able to compete for a project because you MUST have bumi partner, even if that bumi partner does squat!

I hv more stories like this that happened to me so don't !@#$%^& tell me to come back home.

Since I have left I have met the partner of my dreams, I have no problem getting a job and succeed in it DESPITE my nationality, my background or my accent! I have met amazing friends and more people from around. Food is NOT A PROBLEM. There are so many Malaysian restaurants here selling cheap and authentic Malaysian food. 24/7 mamak? Have you heard of the city that never sleeps? New York baby! With more choices, not just Malaysian food, imagine that!

Kudos, Tim, for daring to go home, for daring to dream, and succeeding. Thank you for proving that maybe it's time to stop using 'second-class citizen treatment' as a byword for anything and everything. Thank you for being living proof of the opportunities available to any Malaysian willing to grab it.

I'm coming home.

I had my PR fr Aus.. but I let it expired. I rather be home.
I know, my pay is low here but knowing that I am giving back to my country, it's a good feeling.

Yes, we have some serious issues in Malaysia, but.. if all bijak pandai left malaysia who else nk slamat kan our own country?

Imagine all engineers, doctor, lecturer etc. cabut fr our country to get good pay, memang kejam dan derhaka laaa

sampai hati,,,

My 2cents laaa

I would love to go home... but am still working in UK waiting for my postgrad diploma to start...

I'm miserable here (but still trying to hang in there).... And let me tell u... being a chinese girl in a small town isn't very easy... racism is alive... even in UK. Maybe not so much in the bigger cities. But silly me, I've chosen to live in two different small towns now and I'm always afraid to go out when it's dark.

A few of my friends rather go to Singapore to work. A few of them refuse to go home at all. All due to unknown prospects of being a hospital pharmacist in Malaysia. But I think the clinical aspects of pharmacy is coming through in Malaysia, so I'm not worried about going back home to practice.

I think it's better to be miserable back home with family around to cheer me up... rather than here alone and miserable. So when I can't stand it, I'll hand in my notice. I might regret it when the time comes, but regrets are just regrets. Life goes on.

I think people get confused about missing home. I've been in the UK for 5 years and sometimes I feel like I do miss home. But am I truly missing Malaysia or am I actually missing my family? I'm pretty sure that it is the latter.

Consider this, I am working as a doctor in England and I get paid many folds more under much better working conditions. Financial aspects aside, I also have an equal shot at advancing my career as it is all merit based. And note this, I actually AM a foreigner here yet still have equal opportunities. At home, I am a citizen but will be disadvantaged because of the colour of my skin.

Sure there is some racism in the UK but most people shun it while at home it is blatant and the government supports it. 1Malaysia is a farce and all of us know it.

So tell me again, can you really look me in the eye and preach patriotism and love for my own country to me?
