I read a true story of a couple like that before, a guy marrying a 'girl' who was previously a guy, so while they cant have kids, they are living quite happily now. I think the most difficult part will be looking past the fact that she was a he. As for missing periods, there is a medical condition called primary amenorrhea and in that condition, even normal girls can have no period at all. But yeah question here is, if the wife didnt plan to let the husband noe in the 1st place, then its funny why she agree to go see a doctor. When a fetus is in its mother's womb, testosterone or estrogen will decide a baby's sex. There are many things that can go wrong. We classify these things into 3 categories. Male Pseudohermaphrodite, female pseudohermaphrdite or a true hermaphrodite. Male psedohermaphrodite: means that the person has testes (plural of testis) present, but external genitalia are female or ambiguous. The most common form of this is Androgen insensitivity meaning there is testosterone but the testosterone receptors are not working properly. Female psedohermaphrodite: means the person has ovaries (which will produce estrogen) but external genitalia are male. This is not the case in the above situation. True hermaphrodite: Person has both ovaries and testicular tissue present. This situation is very rare. In conclusion, the above scenario is probably due to androgen insensitivity, or a serious case of 5 alpha reductase deficiency (which is a condition where testosterone cannot be converted to DHT which promotes penis growth).
